Charlotte beginning the process of raising her sauce boat, on the Asymmetric Raising Course tutored by Tony Bedford.

Back in January Charlotte spent an intensive week in the dramatic surroundings of the Snowdonia National Park learning the art of Asymmetric Raising as part of the Contemporary British Silversmiths Skills Training Programme; an initiative to raise the skill level of mid-career silversmiths and help preserve specialist techniques.

Hosted by fellow silversmith Rauni Higson, in her workshop, and taught by master silversmith Tony Bedford, formerly of Asprey, Charlotte and her fellow participant silversmiths Abigail Brown, Nan Nan Liu and Wayne Meeten were tasked with raising a sauce boat from a single flat sheet of silver.
